For over 25 years, Comedian/Professional Speaker/Trumpeter Rod Allison (aka Rod of God Comedy) has performed his signature style of clean comedy nationally and internationally. Whether he’s performing on stage before thousands or in more intimate venues, audiences have consistently described Rod’s shows as: Totally Unpredictable, Highly Energetic, Creatively Witty and 100% Crazy!
He’s shared the stage with Kirk Franklin; CeCe Winans; Casting Crowns; Yolanda Adams; Donnie McClurkin; Marvin Sapp; Hezekiah Walker; Brian Culbertson; Comedian D.L. Hughley and numerous others.
Rod has provided comedy for several corporations, colleges and organizations such as: The National Medical Association; Radio One; Pfizer; Novartis; Urban Sports & Entertainment Group; North Carolina Central University; Fayetteville State University; Camelback Ventures and countless others. In addition, he’s performed in various settings for audiences of all ages, races and backgrounds including: The National Museum of Women in the Arts; Jamaica Fest; CIAA Basketball Tournament; MAJACE Jazz Festival; colleges; churches and diverse organizations.
Rod is known as the “Attorney by Day & Comedian by Night Entertainer” because believe it or not…this Entertainer is also a Lawyer!
When he’s not performing, Rod is busy providing legal services at his private law practice in North Carolina. He graduated as Class Valedictorian from North Carolina Central University, where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees, and earned his law degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. He was recognized by the NC Bar Association and named an HBCU Living Legend in honor of his dual career in Comedy and Law.
Drawing from his unique mixture of careers, Rod is also an acclaimed Professional Speaker Roderick “Speaks”. His speaking style has been classified as “Professional Speaking…with a Comical Twist”, successfully merging his serious and comical side for purposes of leaving a lasting impact on his audience. Rod often opens his presentation with a guarantee to the audience: “You’ll leave informed, you’ll leave entertained…but you will not leave BORED”!
Surprising to many, this hilarious Entertainer is also a Trumpeter. Rod was a featured soloist for the highly acclaimed NCCU Jazz Band which performed with the Count Basie Orchestra, Branford Marsalis and other notable musicians.
Given his desire to spread the gift of laughter throughout the world, Rod has released 3 full-length comedy recordings: “Rod of God Comedy Live: What I’m Saying Is…”; “I’m Laughin’ In The Rain” and “Rod of God Comedy Live…Laughter Is Legal”.
Above everything else, Rod is most proud to live his life as a Christian, Husband to his beautiful wife (Kimberly) and Father to 2 wonderful children (Christofferson and Kristin). Throughout his comedic career, he has remained committed to his mission of proving: “You can be funny without being vulgar…and a Christian without losing your sense of humor!”
